NASHIK: Congress state president Nana Patole, who announced resolve the city president issue for City Congress, has not been able to give a new city president to Nashik. Although months have passed, the Congress workers are hesitant that Nashik city is not getting a new city president. Due to this, the state president Patole has given a warning to the office bearers of Nashik that he will take a unilateral decision.
Sources have informed that the state president, who was upset with the office bearers of Nashik, is now preparing to take a bold decision as the issue of post of city president is not getting resolved due to opposition from party members to every name suggested in Nashik.
Against the backdrop of Nashik Municipal Corporation elections, Patole has called a meeting of local leaders in Mumbai and pulled off the leaders against the opposition of the names elected from the post of city president. Considering the harm in upcoming elections, Patole has given a stern warning to the local office bearers.
Opposition parties have stated they will not run in the by-elections, but Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat and Patole have reportedly decided to come together and take a decision. Due to factionalism in Nashik City Congress, Sharad Aher has been in charge of the city for six and a half years now.
As Gurmeet Bugga resigned from the post of corporator and joined the Congress in Mumbai in the presence of Patole, it was assumed that he will accept the post of city president. But local leaders opposed. After name of Shahu Khaire, Dr. Hemalatha Patil and Rahul Dive were also opposed by the local leaders. Now name of Shailesh Kute has came up and Dr. Sunil Deshmukh has also communicated with him for the same.
