Nashik: It’s official now. The city bus service will be launched on July 8 by former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis, District Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal and BJP State President Chandrakant Patil.
Mayor Satish Kulkarni who led the delegation to Mumbai to invite top party leaderships said, “The city bus service, which is an ambitious project of Nashik Municipal Corporation, will be launched on July 8 by Maharashtra Opposition Leader Devendra Fadnavis, District Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal and BJP State President Chandrakant Patil.”
Yesterday in Mumbai, a Bharatiya Janata Party delegation led by Mayor Kulkarni met and contacted various senior leaders and requested them to attend the inaugural launch of the city bus service. The top leaders accepted the invitation and agreed to inaugurate the city bus service, informed Mayor Kulkarni.
Also, BJP liaison leader Jayakumar Rawal, former Guardian Minister Girish Mahajan and other dignitaries will also be present. MLA Rahul Dhikale, Deputy Mayor Bhikubai Bagul, Standing Committee Chairman Ganesh Gite, State Vice President and former MLA Balasaheb Sanap, City President Girish Palve, State Spokesperson Laxman Savji and senior leader Vijay Sane were present on the occasion.
Earlier, NMC has fixed ticket fares for its maiden city bus service. The corporation will charge a fixed fare every two kilometres. After the first two km, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 km stages have been made. A facility of the monthly pass has also been introduced.
