Cantonment Board to receive oxygen plant

DEOLALI CAMP: Bhalerao family, in collaboration with Hansraj Damodarji Charitable Trust Mumbai, is providing an oxygen plant worth Rs 30 lakh to the Cantonment General Hospital to address the shortage of medical oxygen. The plant will become operational in the coming weeks thus, solving the shortage problem permanently in Deolali.

After witnessing the plight of patients and Deolali, the Bhalerao family decided to aid society by easing up the fight against the pandemic. MP Hemant Godse addressed the issue of oxygen shortage and connected with various businessmen, social activists, entrepreneurs, friends, and others for monetary help required to set up an oxygen plant. Accordingly, with the help of donors, oxygen plants were set up at Girnare, Suddha Pimpri, Sinnar, and Igatpuri.

A similar self-generation oxygen plant at Cantonment General Hospital could provide a continuous supply of oxygen to 1.5 lakh people spread across 52 villages, including Deolali and Bhagur. To help the residents of Deolali, Sanjay Bhalerao and his family met MP Hemant Godse. The family contacted Mumbai-based Hansraj Damodarji Charitable Trust chairman Piubhai Jasrani, Rajendra Sangle, and spoke to them about the noble deed.

As the cost of the oxygen plant is 30 lakh, the Trust decided to incur 80% of the total cost, and the Bhalerao family will contribute the remaining 20%. Both the parties jointly placed an order with a Baroda company, and the oxygen plant will start functioning at CGH in the next eight days.

MP Hemant Godse, Sanjay Bhalerao, Rajiv Bhalerao, Ravindra Bhadane, and others met Ajay Kumar, CEO of Cantonment Board, and discussed the whole procedure. They stated that the family is providing the plant in the memory of Late Milind Vishnupant Bhalerao. CEO praised the efforts of the Bhalerao family and Godse’s dedication towards Deolali. The CGH will receive the oxygen plant in the next eight days and produce 10 Nmq of oxygen for 35 patients daily.
