Cadets from Nashik, Nagar rehearse for the R-Day parade

NASHIK: City cadet Sana Sheikh, a student of Motiwala Homoeopathic Medical College, Nashik, and Prince Pillai, a student of SMBT Ayurveda College, Igatpuri, are part of the National Service Scheme (NSS) team from Maharashtra which is rehearsing for the Republic Day parade on Rajpath.

A total of 10 students including eight from Maharashtra’s National Service Scheme (NSS) and two from Goa are rehearsing hard on Delhi’s historic Rajpath and Kariappa Parade Ground in the bitter cold. The Maharashtra team has a total of eight cadets, including cadet Thitam Popat of SN Arts, JM Commerce and BN Sajra Science College of Sangamner, and cadet Firdos Hasan of BPHE Society College, Ahmednagar.

A total of 150 cadets / students have been selected from 15 divisions of the country and at present all of them are rehearsing daily for the R-Day parade. Out of these, 100 cadets will be selected for the 26th January Republic Day parade.

Maharashtra in parade committee

Out of the 15 programme officers participating in this NSS training camp, one male and one female programme officer are selected for the Rajpath parade on 26th January. In this connection, Dr. Pavan Naik of Maharashtra has been selected in the Parade Committee this year and he will participate on 26th January to boost the morale of the NSS squad.
