BJP women wing to plant 3000 saplings
NASHIK: The women wing of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to plant 3000 saplings in the city on Vat Savitri Pournima. Environmentalists, NGOs and Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) have jointly undertaken a drive for conservation of the Nandini river. The environment wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party is also taking part in it.
BJP state spokesperson who is chief of Nandini river revival and conservation drive Laxman Savji informed that work is underway to make Nandini river pollution and waste-free from Pimpalgaon Bahula to Takali in the first phase. He said that seeing the enthusiasm of environmentalist organizations and activists of the environment wing of BJP Nashik city would be a role model all over the country and environmental experts from all over the country would come to see pollution free Nandini which is the backbone of Nashik city.
BJP city president Girish Palve, BJP state spokesperson Laxman Savji, MLA Seema Hiray, BJP city executive Prashant Jadhav, general secretary Jagan Anna Patil, actor Chinmay Udgirkar and others were present at the meeting held recently to hold discussions about the tree plantation drive that will be held on June 24 on the occasion of Vat Savitri Pournima, In the beginning, Laxman Savji informed about the initiative to make Nandini pollution-free.
MLA Seema Hiray said that the maximum number of environmentalists should participate in bringing the past glory back to the Nandini river. Actor Chinmay Udgirkar stated that he would take part in the awareness campaign. BJP environment wing chief Uday Thorat made the introductory speech. Charudatta Aher compered the programme, while Bhagwan Kakad proposed the vote of thanks.
