Beware kite-flyers; you are under surveillance
NASHIK: Even though nylon manja has been banned, its secret storage and sale are still going on in the city, and it is feared that the sale may go up until the Makar Sankranti festival. Against this backdrop, political parties have also initiated some steps along with the administration to prevent the use of nylon thread by the vendors and kite flyers.
With the concept of NCP youth city president Ambadas Khaire, to keep a close eye on nylon manja sellers and users, division-wise teams of youth office bearers have been deployed across the city.
The use of nylon thread while flying a kite has resulted in many accidents involving civilians as well as birds and some of them have even lost their lives. The Supreme Court has banned the use of nylon manja, which is still being sold clandestinely in the city.
The ill effects of this are being felt by animals as well as human beings. The use of nylon thread while flying kites has led to many accidents in which many lives have been lost. At the same time, it is a big problem for the birds. Many birds are injured, and their lives are lost in it. The raids are conducted against the nylon users, but their sell still continues secretly.
To keep a close eye on the sellers and users, teams of NCP youth office bearers have been deployed in the city. If the members of the squad are found someone selling nylon manja or using it, the volunteers will inform police officers about the same to initiate strict action against the violators.
