NASHIK: Work of the Manjarpada project is nearing completion and water will come to Yeola at full capacity this monsoon. The objective is to supply this water to Dongargaon and complete the work of railway crossing in Punegaon Daraswadi Dongargaon canal should be completed within a month, District Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal directed to the concerned officials.
Bhujbal on Sunday (May 30) inspected the Punegaon Daraswadi Dongargaon canal in Kusur and Kusmadi Shivara of Yeola tehsil. He was speaking at the time. Former Zilla Parishad president Radhakisan Sonawane, Yeola Agriculture Produce Market Committee administrator Vasant Pawar, Panchayat Committee member Mohan Shelar, superintending engineer A R Naik, executive engineer R A Shimpi and others were present on the occasion.
With the completion of the Manjarpada project, water will come to Yeola at full capacity this monsoon. In view of this, the cleaning work of the Punegaon Daraswadi Dongargaon canal is going on. However, railway crossing work is pending. Railway has permitted this work and Bhujbal inspected this work with the officials. Bhujbal on the occasion stated that the work of the Manjarpada project will complete soon and the objective is to supply water to Dongargaon in any case during this monsoon season.
Therefore, the repair work of the canal should be completed immediately and the work of railway crossing in the Kusmadi area should be completed within a month. He also directed the authorities to complete the necessary works as per the demands of the farmers in the canal area.
