Mandhare was speaking while receiving Rs 10 crore cheque on behalf of the university towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund at YCMOU campus.

“The university has made significant contribution in the formation of Maharashtra. On behalf of the government and the district administration, I would like to thank the institute for its enormous contribution in shaping the future of the state by donating Rs 10 crore to fight the COVID-19 battle.

The district collector himself visited the university and received the cheque at the hands of vice chancellor E Vayunandan.

On the occasion, university’s finance officer M.B. Patil, head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Raosaheb Patil, deputy registrar Vivek Oak, Kailas More, Chandrakant Pawar and Kailas Mohite were present.

“Corona is a crisis, but the administration has noticed some positive changes in our lifestyle in the face of this crisis,” Mandhare said. The number of farmer suicides has dropped dramatically in the last two months. The rate of medical treatment has also dropped significantly.

The number of patients with other diseases has also come down significantly. People have also adopted a lifestyle that takes care of personal health along with hygiene. The government and administration are keeping a close eye on all these positive changes.

In the coming period, projects related to agriculture, health, social, economic and lifestyle based on these changes will be implemented jointly by the Open University through the district administration,” Mandhare said
