NASHIK: As per the decision of the Maharashtra State Government, fire prevention measures have not been taken after issuing notices to 60 hospitals, five of them hospitals have submitted audit reports. However, still, 55 hospitals have not set up firefighting systems.
Soz action is likely to be taken against the concerned hospitals in January There are 585 private hospitals in Nashik city. Hospital premises must take fire safety measures. This issue created headlines in the year 2018. The then city commissioner Radhakrishna Game, who came in 2018, resolved the issue.
In the meantime, the outbreak of corona happened, and all the inspections stopped. The government has set up private hospitals to cater to the needs of the citizens. The medical profession license renewal that takes place every year is also timely. The deadline has been extended to February. Meanwhile, if fire prevention measures are in good condition; still, it is mandatory to submit the audit to the Municipal Corporation.
Municipal Corporation issued notices to 60 hospitals for neglect. Five of them have now submitted audit reports. As a result, another 55 hospitals are on the radar. Until end of the current month, action will be taken next month if complete information is not received from them, sources said.
