NEW DELHI :
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has said that 560 out of 775 universities in the country have either conducted online or offline examinations or are about to conduct the examinations during the Coronavirus period.
So far, 194 universities have taken online or offline examinations and are preparing to take the exam either online or in both ways in August 366 or September.
A statement issued by the Secretary of the UGC, said that renowned universities all over the world, whether in the US, UK, Canada, Germany or Australia or Singapore, all have conducted their exams online or offline or both ways.
Therefore, students' talent was evaluated only through exams for admission, scholarship, jobs and other work for students and this gives them worldwide acceptance.
According to the statement, on April 29, the UGC had issued guidelines for the students' semester and final semester examination and decided to conduct the exam from July 1 to 15 but later extended it to the end of September.
In the meantime, opinion was sought from 945 universities in the country, and answers were received from 755 universities. These include 120 deemed universities, 274 private universities and 40 central universities and 321 state universities.
