31 cops in district to get DG’s Insignia today

NASHIK:

A total of 31 personnel of the Nashik district police will be among that 800 personnel in Maharashtra police who will be conferred with the Director General’s (DG) Insignia, an award given to police personnel for notable service in the line of duty, today (May 1). State Director General of Police Subodhkumar Jaiswal announced the list of awardees on the eve of Maharashtra Day on Thursday.

The DGP presents the award every year on Maharashtra Day to police personnel selected from across ranks based on their track record and incidents where they displayed exemplary action. This year, of the 800 personnel to be honoured from all over the State, 31 are from Nashik.

The awardees from Nashik district include deputy superintendent of Manmad Sameer Salve, police inspector of Nashik city crime branch Ananda Wagh, 16 personnel from city police commissionerate, nine from Nashik district rural police force, three from Maharashtra Police Academy, one from the anti-corruption bureau and three from the anti-terrorist squad.
