100-bed cell being set up at district civil hospital for children

NASHIK: As it is predicted that children in large numbers would be infected during the possible third wave of Covid-9, a separate 100-bed cell is being set up for the children at the district civil hospital. The work to set up the cell has been started on the third floor of the hospital. The cell has been decorated with attractive cartoons and pictures painted on a wall.

Arrangement of beds and oxygen line has been made. The ventilator and other necessary systems will also be arranged in a week. Nashik Municipal Corporation is also preparing two separate hospitals having 100-beds for children and their mothers in the city. Arrangement of 50 beds in three rural hospitals and 25 beds at sub-district hospitals have been planned.

The district administration has made planning in a way that no medical oxygen shortage would be felt during the third wave. A total of 600 beds have been arranged at private hospitals for children in the city. They include over 600 oxygen beds, 25 ventilator beds and general beds. Due to this over 1,000 beds would be available in the city in case of requirement.
