Int’l charter flight takes off from Nashik
NASHIK: Arriving on the international airport map Nashik airport on Thursday witnessed a charter flight taking off to Ireland. This is followed by a recent cargo flight carrying 45 tonnes of goats to Dubai a few days ago. While there are talks of increasing the utility of Nashik airport and efforts are being made in the same direction the airstrip witnessed a 9-seater charter plane taking off from Ojhar to Ireland on Thursday. This was a non-scheduled flight by Freedom air services of a charter business plane.
A few days ago, a 330 cargo airbus from Egypt took off from Nashik airport to Dubai with the export of 45 tonnes of goats. Amigo Aviation, HAL, customs, Halcon, the cargo service provider and Bangalore Airport Terminal Services Pvt. Ltd. (BATS), the ground handling agency pitched in to make this huge export possible through the cargo air service.
Two such flights from Nashik taking off at a time when earlier scheduled flights had come to a halt has brought in a fresh breeze of hope for the Nashik airport. There always have been talks of the possibility of using Nashik as an alternative to Mumbai and the capacities are being proved time and again.
It is time to record the air service history of Nashik with great emphasis with such flights taking off from its ground. The airport can prove to be a good alternative to the overloaded Mumbai airport both for international and domestic services and also connect the corporate and industrial world to other countries.
