Demand to establish medical college in Nashik district

NASHIK :

Establish a government medical college in Nashik for ease of those students taking medical education, demanded office bearers of the student wing of Nationalist Congress Party in a memorandum to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. District chief Nandan Bhaskare and other office bearers gave a memorandum to him after he arrived on the district tour.

Nashik city and district are making progress on the lines of Mumbai and Pune. If students from Nashik, Jalgaon, Dhule, Nandurbar and surrounding areas have to make progress in the educational sector, they have no option than Mumbai and Pune. There is Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in Nashik city, but not a single government medical college in the city.

The city is expanding day by day and the population is growing. Considering this current district civil hospital is not sufficient for patients, but government land is available in the campus of health university. If government medical college is established there, load on the district civil hospital can be reduced and many options can be available for patients, it was stated in the memorandum.

In Maharashtra, 80% of medical colleges are being run through deemed university and fee of the university in unaffordable for the common students. If the government medical college is started in Nashik city, students will be benefitted. This will help in making Nashik the educational hub, it was further stated in the memorandum. Former MP Sameer Bhujbal, Shriram Shete, MLA Dilip Bankar and Ravindra Pagar were present.

on the occasion.
