The Centre has given the nod for setting up the COVID-19 testing facility at the Dr Vasantrao Pawar Medical College located in the city, stated authorities on Friday.

District Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal was constantly making efforts for instituting a lab here as the samples are being sent to Dhule and Pune for testing. Hence, delaying diagnosis and subsequent treatment of the pandemic cases.
Datar Genetics and Apollo Hospital have pledged to provide medical paraphernalia required for conducting the kits. Presently, a team of medicos from these facilities are undergoing training for performing the COVID-19 test at the AIIMS Hospital of Nagpur.
