Consensus to make hawkers zone planning with coordination


Satpur : There was consensus on finding a way out with coordination in providing places to hawkers in proposed hawkers zone on roads. Planning over this will be made immediately and hold discussions with hawkers, assured Deputy Municipal Commissioner Haribhau Phadol.

Deputy Municipal Commissioner Phadol, corporator Saleem Shaikh, Yogesh Shevre, Diksha Londhe, Seema Nigal, Nayana Gangurde and Radha Bendkoli were present for the meeting. District president of hawkers association Shantaram Chavan, Shashikant Unhavane, Javed Shaikh, Pushpa Wankhede, Duttatray Morade and representatives of hawkers and other businessmen were also present.

Saleem Shaikh asked to rehabilitate the hawkers and expressed his disappointment over negligence to chicken centres and fish sellers in the city. 90% people are non-vegetarian, but if proper place and slaughter house are given to them, other will not suffer, he said.

Diksha Londhe stated that hawkers zone has been fixed over Londhe route, but there is a need to improve road condition there, she mentioned. Seema Nigal requested to resolve problem of Chhatrapati Shivaji market immediately. Nayana Gangurde expressed her disappointment over fixing of hawkers zone near Someshwar water fall. She also asked officials for making planning without taking local people’s representatives into confidence.

Divisional Prabhag Committee chairperson Madhuri Bolkar, divisional officer Nirmala Gaikwad, Shinde and officials of other departments were also present for the meeting.
