Nashik : The Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan is an ambitious scheme by government and it is receiving huge response by citizens. Complete all works undertaken under 2016-17 by June 30.
Extension was given for this last year, but it will not be given this year. Officials should make necessary planning to complete works in time, else strict action will be taken against those officials who fail to complete works in time, warned state Water Conservation Minister Prof. Ram Shinde.
Review of works under Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan was taken in presence of Minister Shinde at Niyojan Bhavan in district collectorate. MLA Anil Kadam, Dr. Rahul Aher, Rajabhau Waje, Narhari Zirwal, ZP chairperson Shital Sangale, principal secretary of employment guarantee scheme and water conservation Eknath Davale, District Collector Radhakrishnan B and ZP chief executive officer Deepakkumar Meena were present.
Expressing his disappointment over performance by those villages which lagged behind in Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan, Minister Shinde rebuked the officials. This Yojna is receiving huge response by people. There is also overwhelming response by people for transporting silt. Officials should make necessary planning to complete works in the Abhiyan in time. Prepare project report of works in current year and give approval to them, he added.
In addition efforts will be taken to make more and more works before monsoon. Action will be taken against those officials who fail to complete works in time, Shinde informed.
Earlier, the District Collector informed about works under Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan from 2015 to 2017. He expressed his lament over short of fund for competition of works. Hike fund for the district and give permission to include more villages from Niphad taluka in Jalyukt Shivar Yojna, the District Collector demanded.
Davale expressed his disappointment over non-serious attitude of officials over Shivar Pheri project. Effective water conservation works can be done by saving government expenditure. Davale instructed to do that works with priority which can be done with increased participation by people to store more water.
