CM to take review of ‘Samruddhi’ project

Nashik: The Chief Minister himself will take review of Samruddhi express way work through a video conferencing. Orders have been issued to give information about rates which were fixed groupwise and survey completed so far.

Though there is opposition to the project across state, government has started a process to fix rates after declaration of gat number for land purchase. The process for rate fixation was completed at Nagpur first and it is being on in Wardha and Thane. Rates are also being fixed in Nashik.

Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi expressway which is an ambitious project by state government has to be completed by October 2019. The process including land acquisition to be completed and construction of the express way will be started from October 2017.

As a first part of this land will be purchased after private negotiations for land acquisition. It is expected to fix rates for land purchase which are necessary, but opposition is being shown in most districts. There was possibility of delay in work. State mechanism was in dilemma. It was decided then to purchase lands directly from farmers. It has been informed that concerned farmers have been called for negotiations after publication of gat numbers. Rate fixation of lands will now be tabled before them.

The rates will be fixed jointly by public works department, revenue and secondary registration department after taking into account transactions which took place at every place in last five years and ready reckoner rates. Thereafter lands from farmers will be taken by informing how farmers will benefit.

After completion of rate fixation process, highest rates will be considered and rates likely to be finalised by adding 25% more amount. Pressure regarding this project is increasing from government level and the Chief Minister will himself take review about the action taken by administration. Farmers as well as political parties have shown their strong opposition to this project, but administration has started further action by thwarting this opposition, conflict likely to be intensified.
