Clean Godavari prime initiative for smart Nashik: Bhujbal
Nashik: In a meeting regarding Nashik smart city project, the Civic Supply and Consumer Affairs State Minister and Guardian Minister of Nashik Chhagan Bhujbal stated that the city cannot be smart without clean river Godavari. The sewage water which is being released into river should be processed properly. He directed that the river Godavari which flows from middle of the Nashik city must be protected and kept clean.
A presentation of Nashik Smart City plan was held at Mantralaya by Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishna Game. On the occasion Bhujbal gave instructions about smart city project to Smart City Company and Nashik Municipal Corporation.
He stated that Nashik will need clean, environment friendly and sustainable basic facilities first to become a smart city. The old and Gaothan area of Nashik which is true heritage of the city should be protected. The project should be implemented properly.
In his presentation the Municipal Commissioner explained that under the smart city project, the SCADA system will be implemented for water supply. With this system the water will be supplied 24×7 with proper pressure. The system will help to detect any leakage or problem in water supply network and it will also put stop to habit of water storage and will save water more effectively.
Currently, there are 43 water tanks in city running on Non Revenue Water (NRW), which can be bought to 10 percent with this system. The meeting was attended by the smart city company chairman Sitaram Kunte.
