City witnesses 6 murders in one month
Nashik: There is a rise in murder and attempt to murder cases in the city since the start of the new year. Six murders took place in a span of one month and it is in discussions that police are failing to curb murder.
Though police administration laimed that murder incidents reduced in last year, six murders took place between January 8 to February 10 in the new year. A businessman, a girl and four youths were murdered.
Nashik has been rocked by these murder cases. In the first week of January, suspects looted cash of Rs. 6 lakh in Indiranagar area on January 8 and murder owner of a mall. Police also rocked by this incident and Indiranagar police station, crime branch and Panchavati police station provided momentum to the investigation.
Police were succeeded in nabbing suspects after eight days. On the next day of this murder, Gangapur police found a dead body of a young girl on a terrace of a commercial complex in a posh area of College Road on January 9.
During the investigation, it came to light the girl was killed by her paramour. Panchavati police arrested the paramour who was trying to commit suicide by consuming a poisonous substance. After four days of this incident, a gang attacked youths in Ganjmal area on January 15 over a minor reason and killed him.
A gang on January 28 killed a youth who mediating between two warring groups with help of a sharp-edged weapon. This incident took place in the Jail Road area. After a gap of one week, a youth who was standing in a chowk, Shubham Park area, New Nashik was stabbed to death by two youths who arrived on a two-wheeler.
This gruesome incident took place on February 8. Following two days, a hardened criminal was murdered on Sunday night on Nashik-Pune highway. Citizens are expressing their anger for this. Police immediately arrested the suspects, but citizens are demanding stern steps by police to curb these incidents.
