Cantonment board purchases fire fighting vehicle


Deolali Camp : The Deolali cantonment board has purchased a state-of-the-art fire fighting vehicle worth Rs. 63.49 lakh, based on hydraulic technology to tackle emergency situations. Vice president Dinkar Adhav inaugurated it.

Adhav said that as area of cantonment board is large, fires will be doused more promptly with this vehicle. It was extremely necessary to tackle emergency situations. Fire fighting vehicle of cantonment board had become old and the proposal to purchase a new vehicle had been made last year.

Managers of Hi-tech company Sunil Kadam and Tanaji Tile informed that Pune-based Hi-tech company installed foreign hydraulic technology, two pipes, foam system, hydraulic ladder upto 11-metre, de-watering system, facility of emergency announcement, six instruments which can be used without electricity and generator on Tata 1613 vehicle.

Chief executive officer Vilas Pawar, corporator Baburao Mojad, Sachin Thakre and Bhagwan Katariya were present. Administrative officer of cantonment board Umesh Gorwadkar, fire brigade officer Satish Bhatkhale, Deepak Parkar, Vivek Band and others were also present.
