Boretembhe becomes minimum voting polling booth
Nashik : The Bortembhe gaon polling booth on Mumbai Agra highway, in Igatpuri has became the polling booth to register lowest voting percentage. In the district of Nashik this booth has witnessed lowest voter turnout. The booth registered only 9.15 percent of the total voting. There were 1234 voters in this village’s polling booth but out of that only 113 voters actually voted on Monday.
The villagers of Boretembhe gaon decided to boycott the elections. The villagers said that there is been no development in the village. No public representative has ever come to village tough it is just a few meters away from Mumbai Agra highway NH3. “The MLA never showed his face to us why should we vote. Whatever yours seeing in the village is developed by grampanchayat,” alleged villagers.
The villagers said that they decided to boycott the elections as the MLA’s and party candidates visit the village only during elections. Afterwards no candidate or MLA turn to village. The developments works of schools, internal roads are done by the village panchayat and not by the MLA. The villagers also said that they visited the MLA several times for their problems but nothing was done.
