ATL to be inaugurated at Cantt high school on I-Day


Deolali Camp : Aimed at inculcating a culture of scientific innovation into the young minds, in a first in Deolali, Niti Aayog’s ‘Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) is being set up at Cantonment Board High School here on Independence Day.

This unique lab funded under the central government’s Atal Innovation Mission will provide a work space to the young students for shaping their ideas by hands on doing themselves models and learning scientific innovation skills. The government has selected the Cantonment Board High School in Deolali for setting up the ATL as the school has fulfilled the criteria and terms & conditions defined by the Niti Aayog.

The Lab will be inaugurated by Deolali Cantonment Board president Brig Pradeep Kaul in key presence of vice president Dinkar Adhav at 10.00 am on August 15 in the school premises.

CEO Vilas Pawar, corporator Baburao Mojad, Sachin Thakare, Bhagwan Kataria, Prabhavati Dhivare, Asha Godse, Kaveri Kasar and Meena Karanjkar will be the chief guests on the occasion.

The students participating in the ATLs will be encouraged, guided, mentored and enthused to work with ‘Do-It-Yourselves’ (DIY) kits so that they develop a spirit of innovation and thereby build solutions.

The young children will get a chance to work with tools to understand the concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
