Nashik : The cricket team of Ashoka Universal School registered their name as the Division Champions in the U-14 cricket tournament, organized by District Sports Office.
The players of the Ashoka cricket team fought relentlessly to claim the victory. Ashoka batted first and scored 75 runs in allotted 10 overs. Ashoka then bowled with extraordinary performance, sending the entire Niphad team back to pavilion in 35 runs only and defeated it by 40 runs. Thanks to Ashoka’s all-rounders, Aniket Gaikwad (15 runs) and Pranit Kothawade (13 runs) who scored quickly for the team and took the highest number of wickets as well (3 wickets each), thereby weakening the spirit of the rival team and thus sealed their place as the champions.
All this was done under the guidance of the cricket coach Ravi Jadhav, who stormed his boys into victory. The staff, students and management felt proud of this feat and conveyed their heartfelt congratulations to the team, besides wishing them all the luck to bring home many more such laurels.
