Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Sunday appealed the people not to come on streets or gather in crowds in response to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal of defeating darkness of the Coronavirus.
Mr Pawar, who also hold the Finance portfolio, said, “The State is presently grappling with two major challenges-the COVID-19 crisis and strengthening economy.”
He further said, “If the citizens stay in the house for a few more days and stop the spread of Corona, we can overcome these challenges as soon as possible.”
“The main challenge is to stop the rise in the Corona cases so as to prevent daily death toll, reduce the stress on health, police and other mechanisms, and tackle the stagnant economy,” he asserted.
“The citizens shoule cooperate with the officials of the Health, Police, Food and Civil Supplies, and all government departments,” he added.
