Administrative approval for construction of 15-bed hospital

NASHIK (MALEGAON) :

The empowerment committee constituted under the Multi-sectoral Development Programme (MsDP) of the Ministry of Minority Affairs has given administrative approval to a proposal of Rs 4.15 crore for construction of a 15-bed hospital at Dyane under limits of Malegaon Municipal Corporation, informed state agriculture minister Dada Bhuse.

The follow-up for approval to the construction of the proposed hospital has been in pipeline for the last several days, and we are happy that the nod has come at the right time, said the minister. Malegaon currently has the highest number of COVID-19 patients compared to the district.

“Due to the hard work of the administration and the cooperation of the residents in tackling the pandemic, a large number of patients are recovering today. In the future, we will make special efforts to ensure adequate health facilities to deal with such social crisis and the hospital to be set up here will definitely bring relief to the people, said Bhuse.

As per the proposal, the central and state governments will bear the cost of the hospital project in the ratio of 60:40. Out of the total sanctioned Rs 4.15 crore, the share of the central government will be Rs 2.49 crore and that of the state will be Rs 1.66 crore.

Minister Bhuse has further informed that the administrative department has been empowered with financial power with the technical approval of the competent authority for the budgeted expenditure of the hospital.

Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 cases in Nashik district reached 950 on Sunday with Malegaon leading the count with 696 patients. While 51 people have died so far from the infection, 673 people have been discharged after recovery.
