Response from citizens proved fruitful for city; Nashik stood forth in first league of Swachh Survekshan

NASHIK:
Nashik city is doing very well in the Swachh Survekshan 2020, a scheme by the central government for cleanliness. Nashik City has stood fourth in the first league of the Swachh Survekshan 2020 and has stood seventh in the second league. Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) officials have said that this year the city is surely doing great.
In the Swachh Surveskshan 2019, the city stood 67th in the clean city ranking in cleanliness survey.
The city performed very badly in the cleanliness survey. The poor feedback from Nashikites affected the performance of the city in a survey. The city performed well at that time in all criteria except for the feedback from citizens. This year the administration has done a satisfactory job.
The administration’s cleanliness drive is continuously going on. Nashik Municipal Corporation has so far painted 254 walls giving a message of Swachh Survekshan and has put 80 hoardings regarding cleanliness awareness across the city. The administration has also requested Nashikites to respond positively and give their feedback.
For the last five years, the central government is conducting this cleanliness survey.
The third league works have been started for the Swachh Survekshan 2020. The city has already jumped to fourth spot in the first league and seventh in the second league. It is expected that this year the city will come in first ten clean cities in the country.
“The city has done very well this year in Swachh Survekshan 2020. We have painted around 41 schools and 31 wards with wall paintings to create awareness about cleanliness. The cleanliness drives are going on continuously in city. The railway station, bus stands, commercial areas, public places have been covered under the Swachh Survekshan 2020.”
