A 55-year-old patient of Novel Coronavirus has died in Malegeon City, becoming the first casualty of the dreaded disease in this district, sources said here on Thursday.
According to administrative sources, the quinquagenarian got admitted to Malegaon General Hospital on Tuesday, along with 14 other people. Their swab samples were sent for testing and on Wednesday night, five reports were found positive, while 10 came out negative.
However, before receiving the report, the 55-year-old succumbed in the hospital on Wednesday morning. The four affected patients have been kept in the Isolation room of Malegaon General Hospital and were undergoing treatment. The total number of COVID-affected people in the district has now reached six, with two patients already undergoing treatment.
