The Sarakrwada police has arrested a person for murdering his own cousin sister by banging her head on the floor over a petty domestic quarrel from Ravivar peth area of the city.
According to the police sources, the accused has been identified as Dighambar alias Bhayya Sanjay Chavhan while the victim has been identified as Ashwini Chavhan resident of Gangawadi in Ravivarpeth area of the city. On Last Friday, the there was incident of quarrel between the victim Ashwini Chavhan and the accused Digambhar Chavhan who are cousins in relation over the piety issue. The accused Digambar lost his temper and started beating his cousin Ashwini and banged her head on the floor.
The victim Ashwnin after being assaulted by her cousin reach the Sarwkarwada police station and registered case against the accused Digambar. But after returning home, Ashwini felt unconscious and felt on the floor. The relatives took her to the private hospital where she was undergoing treatment. Yesterday, (5 April) in the evening Ashwini succumbed to her injured and she died in the hospital while undergoing treatment.
The Sarkarwada police have arrested the accused Dighmbar Chavhan and registered charges of murder against him. Meanhwile, today the police presented the accused in front of court, where the court has granted him police custody still 9 April.
