NASHIK: Versions of triangulation are used in the GPS (global positioning system) era. GPS was created primarily for military purposes and consists of three parts: satellites, global master control centres, and receivers installed everywhere from golf carts to navy destroyers. Twenty Navstar satellites orbit the world every 12 hours, using six distinct orbital patterns, and are used in the U.S. GPS. The system has three more satellites as backup, atomic clocks included inside the satellites give precise readings that are used to govern their locations via remote control of onboard thrusters.
