Battling Corona virus : Information sought on Nashikites travelling abroad: Mandhare

NASHIK: Amid coronavirus pandemic which has spread to more than 120 countries including India where 84 persons so far have tested positive for corona, the district administration is leaving no stone unturned to collect relevant data of Nashik citizens who are currently on foreign tours or returned in the city.

“The district administration is taking every possible preventive step amid coronavirus pandemic. We are collecting data of Nashik citizens who are currently on a foreign tour and returned to their home town,” said district collector Suraj Mandhare.

The district administration as a preventive measure is contacting tour operating companies in the city to collect relevant data of Nashikites who are on a foreign tour and recently returned in the city. The information gathered will be given to the state government so as to ensure preventive steps at airports, according to administrative sources.

The coronavirus scare has now entered in India and has taken toll of two with 84 more positive cases so far in the list with Maharashtra topping with 22 novel coronavirus-infected cases. In the district also, 16 cases with corona-like symptoms were found and fortunately, all the suspects have tested negative.

Meanwhile, the district administration is taking all the necessary steps like strict vigil on people arriving in the city from abroad, day to day monitoring of information collected from 5-star hotels, resorts, vipassana centre etc.
