7 anti-robbery squads start functioning in the district


Nashik : With the initiative of SP Sanjay Darade, 7 anti-theft and patrolling squads have been deployed in the district to prevent robberies and thefts at night in the district.

SP Darade flagged off the vehicles of the squads at rural police force headquarter at Adgaon. Additional SP Vishal Gaikwad, Harsh Poddar, DySP Atul Zende and other police officials were also present.

The SP had conducted a meeting of senior officials and decided to deploy anti-robbery squads to prevent robberies, thefts and other offences in the district. Every squad has 1 PSI and four police personnel. They have vehicles having modern weapons and wireless system. These squads will conduct night partrolling on highway, important routes in the district, city, villages and places where robberies are taking place. They will also probe suspicious persons and vehicles.

The squad will reach the spot where a robbery happens and will probe into it. Robberies and thefts in the district will be curbed due to these patrolling squads, SP Darade assured.
