529 dengue patients found in Oct-Nov

NASHIK:

Nashik municipal area is witnessing menace of dengue for the last four months. The figure of dengue patients is increasing every month. A total of 529 dengue patients were found in the last two months and it has come to light that two patients succumbed to the disease. Nashikites are becoming victims of dengue in absence of regular pest control measures, fogging and insecticide spray. As epidemic is not still under control despite meeting by newly elected Mayor Satish Kulkarni, citizens are panicked.

The number of dengue patients was higher in Nashik three years ago. Considering the situation last year in the city, the director (health) had conducted a special meeting and workshop for doctors to create awareness and took steps about measures to deal with dengue. Some responsibility had also given to NMC health department about the measures, however, it has come to light that NMC solid waste management department and health department is not taking proper measures.

As there is no seriousness in fogging and insecticide spray work by pest control in the city to destroy mosquitoes, mosquito have bread on large scale. As there is no awareness and penal action against places of mosquito breeding, citizens have to become victims.
