28.17 lakh cast their vote in district

Nashik: On Monday the polling process was completed for the State Assembly Elections 2019, throughout the state. Nashik district got poor response from voters, similar as was in the state. About 62 percent of the voters turned to voting out of 45,44,641 voters in district. In district only 28,17,997 voters completed their duty as voters.

The future of candidates has been sealed in Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in 15 constituencies of the district.
The slipping voting percentage in state is cause of worry as per the experts. The vote percentage has declined in metro cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, and Thane.

In last assembly elections of 2014 the district witnessed 65 percent voting, but this year this percentage has dropped to 62 percent. The EC deleted around 56,000 name of the dead from the list and registered around 72,000 new voters in voting list.

In district there were around 45,44,641 eligible voters in 15 constituencies, but out of them only 28,17,997 voters voted on the election day. In that figure, 15,50,195 male voters and 12,67,798 female voters exercised their right. The figures show that the efforts of the district administration for the voters awareness has not yielded results to the expectations.

The district registered 27 transgender voters. Out of the 27 only four visited booths to cast their vote. Nandgaon, Malegaon Outer, Yeola and Dindori registered one transgender vote each.
