250 Amarnath pilgrims from Nashik are safe


Nashik: Seven Amarnath pilgrims were killed in a militant attack in Anantnag on Monday. As many as 250 pilgrims from Nashik left for Amarnath through private travel companies and they are all safe, informed travel companies yesterday.

These pilgrims have gone for Amarnath through Shriram Yatra Company and Choudhari Yatra Company. Out of total pilgrims sent by Shriram Yatra Company, 100 are at Amritsar and will head to Vaishnodevi today, whereas 15 are safe at Baltan, informed directors of Shriram Yatra Company. Out of total pilgrims sent by Choudhari Yatra Company, 100 are at Shrinagar, 50 at Baltan and 25 are at Katra and they are all safe, it was informed.

There is no danger on Amarnath Yatra route, so there is no reason for pilgrims to fear, stated the Yatra Companies. There is no effect of militant attack on bookings for Yatra and more pilgrims are asking for it, it was also informed.

Pilgrims in large numbers are going for the Amarnath Yatra through various travels, but district disaster management department has no information about this. In case of any disaster, district administration has to provide aid to the pilgrims, but due to non-availability of information, it is facing many difficulties.

Considering this, the district administration has called a meeting of directors of all travel companies in Nashik. Discussions over giving information about the pilgrims to the administration will be held in this meeting.
