25 swine flu deaths in Nashik

Nashik: The number of swine flu patients has increased for the last few days. It is a cause of concern for the citizens. 25 patients succumbed to the disease so far in Nashik district.
Last year, the number of patients had reached a figure of 100 almost.

In the state, 76 patients died last year. Hence, a special campaign is now being organized by the health department. “Nashik has recorded 246 swine flu cases and 25 deaths, between January 1, 2019, to April 22, 2019.

So far, the health department screened a total of 74,684 patients; Of them, 4690 patients were given tamiflu tablets. Critical patients are being shifted to a hospital having all facilities. A total of 173 suspects have been found.

Of them, 36 are from the jurisdiction of Nashik Municipal Corporation. A total of 224 patients were positive and 22 people positive in CS side. A total of 362 patients have been discharged from the hospital. The health department is conducting the screening the patients on a daily basis.

Ahmednagar recorded 11 cases of swine flu. 4 people succumbed to the disease, while Jalgaon registered 6 cases and 1 patient died. In the rural sector, Niphad recorded 12 patients. Of them, 4 patients died.

In the urban area, Nashik has topped the list with 134 patients and 5 deaths. 18 people died in private hospitals. Followed by this 6 patients died in the district civil hospital.

People awareness
The district health hospital and municipal hospitals in five districts have been ordered to create awareness about swine flu. The awareness is being made through garbage van, banners, and posters. A person should check the symptoms of cold, fever. As swine flu affects fast, elderly people, pregnant women, diabetic patient, and the persons with hypertension should check their health in case of above symptoms.

Sufficient stock of Tamiflu tablet
All doctors have been ordered to give tamiflu tablet to positive patients. The health department has kept a sufficient stock of tamiflu tablets for this purpose. NMC also issued the guideline for the private medical practitioners.
