As police personnel have been infected in large numbers in Malegaon which has become corona hot spot, the number of infected has reached 170. Of them, 150 police personnel have overcome it and they have been discharged.
Coronavirus was spread rapidly in Malegaon after outbreak began in Nashik district. Currently, Malegaon has 782 infected and 55 fatalities. District rural police personnel were affected. Since March 23, district rural police personnel have been deployed there. Additional police force had been sent there after spike in cases. Highest number of police personnel who came from other districts were infected.
Four police personnel in district rural police force succumbed to the disease. For the few days, the number of infected police has been reduced. Currently the number of infected police personnel has reached 170. Administration has succeeded in curbing spread of coronavirus among police personnel.
Reason behind this is rest to be given to police personnel, their health check up and their rotation, Currently health check up camp is being on at Om lawns in Malegaon. Health of police personnel is being checked there. This will continue for three days. Their counselling is also being made.
