Nashik : Maha Lok Adalat by district legal service authority on December 9 would become historic in real sense. Around 1.5 lakh cases to be tabled in this Lok Adalat. Out of them, more than 80,000 cases to be resolved, claimed district and sessions judge Suryakant Shinde and secretary of legal service authority judge S M Bukke.
If one of the party out of two in pre-litigant and pending cases makes contact till eve of Lok Adalat, their cases will be taken for hearing, Shinde made it clear.
The Rashtriya Lok Adalat was organised on September 9. Record break 56,000 claims were filed in it. 26,379 cases were resolved with mutual understanding. 22,678 cases were pre-litigant cases, while 3,701 pending cases were among them.
A Lok Adalat will now be organised on December 9. Judge Shinde in a media briefing informed, “We are taking efforts to bring 80,000 pending and pre-litigant cases for hearing in Lok Adalat. Citizens should stop spending money on large scale to make rounds of courts for hearing. Tax of Municipal Corporation or any local bodies never waive off. This thing is also applicable for compensation in motor vehicle accident case. There is no point to get the compensation amount which will receive today after 7-8 years, he clarified.
Taking into account the experience of the Lok Adalat in September, revisions will be made in weak claims. There will be tight police security and meetings of every department which will take part in the Lok Adalat were conducted, informed secretary of the district legal service authority S M Bukke.
The awareness about this is being created across the district. “Many were unaware about last Lok Adalat, but the way we are resolving cases, people are turning to the Lok Adalat now. Despite filing of application by citizens till last day, we will table them in the Lok Adalat. More and more citizens should take benefit of this,” he urged.
