NASHIK : The woes of Nashik District Central Cooperative (NDCC) Bank do not seem to end. Following the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), the Zilla Parishad, Nashik too has initiated the process of registering a police complaint against the NDCC Bank for allegedly not paying back an estimated amount of Rs 140 crore on account of which various development works as claimed by the ZP are stalled.
“At the Standing Committee meet, the ZP members demanded filing a criminal case against the NDCC Bank. Accordingly, a report has been sent to the state government and the ZP, as a consequence, has started initiating action against the Bank,” said ZP CEO Milind Shambharkar.
He further clarified that funds, post March 31st, to the tune of Rs 200 crore have been deposited with State Bank of India, instead of the NDCC Bank. The pensioners and the teachers have been advised to open their bank a/cs in other banks and stop depositing any cash with the NDCC Bank.
The MSEDCL has already filed a complaint against the CEO and chairman of the NDCC Bank at Mumbai Naka police station for alleged misappropriation of over Rs 33 crore.
Will the NDCC Bank chairman, CEO attend GM ?
The Zilla Parishad house has unanimously sought presence of the NDCC Bank chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) at its general meeting (GM) scheduled to be held on May 11. The meet, likely to be stormy, will discuss its developmental projects which are stalled and have not progressed further due to non-payment of Rs 140 crore allegedly by the NDCC Bank. It will be interesting to see whether the NDCC Bank chairman and its CEO do attend ZP’s crucial meet or not.
