Kavnai: Nashik-based 48-year old female yoga trainer Pradnya Patil performed yoga for 103 hours at a stretch and set a world record yesterday. Her longest yoga marathon ended at 11.30 am yesterday.
This world record was registered near Pimpri Sado village, Igatpuri. Pradnya Patil had decided to set a world record by performing yoga for 100 hours. She started her yoga marathon on Friday (June 16) at 4.30 am. She broke the record of 57 hours held by Tamil Nadu’s K P Rachana on Sunday (June 18) at 1.30 pm. She also broke the record of 69 hours held by Dr. V Gunasekaran on the same day.
Pradnya completed 100 hours at 8.30 am itself yesterday, but she continued to perform yoga for another three hours till she had clocked 103 hours and duly registered her name in the Guinness Book of World Records. Yoga lovers who were present there expressed their happiness over achievement of the world record with loud cheers. Representative of the Guinness Book of World Records Swapnil Dangrikar handed over the certificate to her.
MLA Devyani Pharande, Prof. Dr. Meenakshi Gavali, industrialist Avinash Gothi, Rohini Naidu, city vice chairperson of BJP Sonal Dagde, Sandhya Shirsath and others were present.
