Nashik: A cleanliness day was observed in state on Sunday under central government’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. 1245 volunteers, NMC officials and 978 sanitary workers took part in the cleanliness drive conducted by Nashik Municipal Corporation.
Corporators in the respective areas took part in the cleanliness drive where it was conducted. Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Krishna, Additional Municipal Commissioner Kishore Borde, the Deputy Municipal Commissioner and the divisional officer wielded the brooms.
The ‘Swachhata Seva Day’ was celebrated at total 44 places in the city. 29 voluntary organisations took part in it. Total 1245 volunteers took part in the drive. As many as 978 sanitary workers also took part in the drive in their respective prabhags. All department heads were present at the office in headquarter and took part in cleanliness drive.
