Deolali Camp : A decision to replan solid waste management as well as various development works were approved in a special meeting of Deolali cantonment board. All subjects were approved unanimously for first time in the meeting that lasted five hours.
Vice president Dinkar Adhav, corporator Baburao Mojad, Sachin Thakre, Bhagwan Katariya, Prabhavati Dhivre, Asha Godse, Meena Karanjkar, chief executive officer Vilas Pawar, Brigadier Subundrikar, Colonel Kamlesh Chavan, Major Piyush Jain and newly elected member Rahul Mishra were present for the meeting held under cantonment board president Brigadier Pradip Kaul.
The cantonment board has decided to start school bus service and various rates being charged from sellers in vegetable market were also hiked. In addition, rates being charged from kiosk owners and handcarts along roads were hiked. Weekly market fee has been hiked by Rs. 10. Approval was given to shelter shed being constructed at Sansari Naka through the fund of MP Hemant Godse.
Besides this, cantonment board will look after repair and maintenance of ten joint roads by army and cantonment board in the city area. With this, there is no need to taken permission from army every three years.
When corporator Katariya and Thakre demanded that there is no need for army permission for repair of roads at Sathenagar and Sahyadrinagar, it was instructed to take decision after joint inspection by army officials and corporators. It was decided to install 80, 100 and 120 watt LED lamps at all electric poles in the city and committee of three has been formed for this. Considering bad condition of roads during monsoon, it was decided to lay stones and murum after demand by the corporators. Office superintendent Umesh Gorwadkar and others looked after administrative proceedings.
