Nashik: Farmers from those villages in Sinnar taluka where opposition shown to the Samruddhi expressway have come forward to provide their lands, informed District Collector Radhakrishna B. The land purchase process in these villages will be completed after diwali, he also informed. 100% land measurement was completed in these villages, administration claimed.
The government wants lands of some farmers in Igatpuri and Sinnar talukas for the Samruddhi expressway, but farmers are not ready to give their lands easily. Farmers from Shivde, Pathre, Dubere, Waregaon and Gharvad villages in Sinnar taluka are still opposing the expressway.
As a result, 100% land measurement could not take place in the district. Administration was succeeded in proving importance of the Samruddhi expressway to villagers. Those people who were opposing strongly to the expressway, are now helping the administration, officials are claiming.
So far, 69.59 hectares of area of 151 farmers in Sinnar taluka has been acquired. They were given compensation of Rs. 74.05 lakh, while 32.95 hectares of area of 253 farmers in Igatpuri taluka has been acquired. Compensation of Rs. 40.86 crore was given to them.
Total 102.53 hectares of area has been acquired so far and compensation of Rs 114.92 crore was given to the farmers, the administration informed.
