Nashik : To help spread awareness about ‘healthy heart’, a marathon run titled ‘Run for healthy heart’ has been organised on Sunday (Aug 13) jointly by ‘Deshdoot’ and Marathonners Club, Nashik.
The run will take place between Saputara in Dang district of Gujarat and Dhanuli village in Kalwan taluka of Maharashtra, according to organisers. One of the objectives of the marathon is to attract tourists as ‘monsoon festival’ is beginning on Saturday (Aug 12) in Gujarat.
The marathon run will be held in three stages of 3-km, 5-km and 10-km. Before the start of the run, the marathonners will have to register their presence near Lake Garden (Saputara). In the first stage of a 3-km run, the marathonners will begin their run at 6.00 am from Saputara to Dhanuli, while the second and final stages of 5-km and 10-km runs respectively will be flagged off subsequently.
The winners will be awarded with medals and cash prizes in key presence of famous Marathi actor Suyog Gore, ‘Deshdoot’ director-editor Vishwas Deokar, general manager (Gujarat Tourism) R J Bhosale, PSI (rural Dang, Saputara) Dhakda and PSI (Abhona, Kalwan taluka) Rahul Fula.
“Saputara is one of the prime tourist spots situated on the borders of Gujarat and Maharashtra. Sizeable number of tourists from both the states visit this spot to spend their vacations. As the ‘monsoon festival’ is beginning in Saputara, the event will play a vital role to attract tourists and spread the message of health,” said Bhosale.
Other than the Marathonners Club, Nashik and ‘Deshdoot’, the proposed mega event is getting full cooperation from Grape County, Gujarat Tourism, Isha Publicity, Bankar Security and Friends Group.
