Rs 53 crore recovered under Krishi Sanjeevani Scheme

Nashik : Around 1.10 lakh farmers in Nashik district took part in Mukhamantri Krishi Sanjeevani Scheme. These farmers have paid Rs. 53.25 crore in the form of outstanding bills to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. State government introduced Mukhamantri Krishi Sanjeevani Scheme in November with an view to make it more easier for farmers to pay their outstanding electricity bills.

A facility to pay original electricity bill, barring fine and interest in easy installments for a year was offered. Camps were organised for agriculture pump consumers in November to resolve all queries related to electricity bill.

1.09 lakh agriculture pump consumers in the district have paid their outstanding bill till November 30, the last day to pay the outstanding bill. 36% consumers out of the total defaulters have taken part in the Scheme.
