Nashik: The police conducted a raid at Rain Forest, a five-star resort in Badayduri village, located at 1 km from Igatpuri in the early hours yesterday and detained 15 persons, including minor girls. Offences against suspects have been registered under POSCO and various sections of Indian Penal Code..
The names of the suspects who detained are Prashant Kashinath Sondkar (27, resident of Didhar, tal. Bhor, district Pune), Vishwas Vitthal Sondkar (45, resident of Vaibhavlaxmi socy, Manglewadi, Katraj, Pune), Gangadhar Bhausaheb Shinde (42, resident of Manoli, tal. Sangamner, district Ahmednagar), Anant Harihar Bhakare (51, resident of Liberty Heights, College Road, Nashik) — all directors of G M Biocides Pvt Ltd — Sanjay Vasant Sonawane (38, resident of Pathardi Phata, Nashik), Prathmesh Sanjay Sonawane (20, resident of Pathardi Phata, Nashik) and Ramkrishna Eknath Sangle (20, resident of Morwadi, Nashik). Another suspect Umesh Jibhau Shewale is on the run.
Igapuri police received information about illegal dance party which was organised at Rain Forest resort on Tuesday midnight. Following orders by SP Sanjay Darade, DySP Atul Zende, police inspector Sanjay Shukla, assistant police inspector Mahesh Mandve, female assistant police inspector R R Pandhre, police havildar Lohre, Vinod Gosavi and others raided the dance party. Eight suspects were found allegedly dancing in an obscene manner with seven girls under the influence of alcohol. The girls are hailing from Mumbai and are dance bar girls. During police investigation it has come to light that two girls are minor.
Offences were registered against those detained under various sections of the IPC, including section 294(a) (obscene act in any public place) and 294(b) (singing, reciting or uttering any obscene song, ballad or words, in or near any public place) and under POSCO at Igatpuri police station.
Female assistant police inspector R R Pandhre is investigating further into the case.
