Nashik : The local branch of rural police arrested a gang of hardened criminals for stealing agricultural pesticides. Goods worth Rs. 13.24 lakh was seized from them.
The names of the suspects are Sopan Dinkar Baste (26, resident of Sindwad, tal. Dindori), Rahul Bhausaheb More (26, resident of Sindwad, tal. Dindori), Satish Arun More (25, resident of Kasbe Sukene, tal. Niphad, currently staying at Bahaduri, tal. Chandwad), Shubham Namdeo Gave (18, resident of Khatwad, tal. Dindori), Khanderao Popat Kadal (40, resident of Tisgaon, tal. Dindori), Kiran Ashok Gaikwad, Lahu Shankar Bast (18, resident of Bahaduri, tal. Dindori), Gulab Nivrutti Lande (21, resident of Sindwad, tal. Dindori) and Dnyaneshwar Madhukar Ganore (resident of Khadaksukene, tal. Niphad).
Following complaints regarding theft of agricultural pesticides, district SP Sanjay Darade and Additional SP Vishwal Gaikwad took a review about this and had instructed to form a special squad.
Accordingly, police inspector of local crime branch Ashok formed a special squad of assistant police inspector Ram Karpe, PSI Machhindra Ranmale, assistant PSI Ravi Shilavat, Rambhau Mundhe, police havildar Deepak Ahire, Hanumant Mahale, police naik Amol Ghuge, police constable Sushant Markad, Hemant Gilbile and others and started parallel investigation. Officials and personnel in the squad were tracing for unidentified thieves in Dindori taluka on October 2. They got input that some youths in Sindwad village were selling pesticides at lesser price rates. Officials and personnel monitored Khedgaon, Sindwad and Khatwad area during night.
They took Sopan Baste and his four colleagues into their custody over suspicion. During interrogation, they gave names of Khanderao Kadale, Kiran Gaikwad and Gulab Lande to the police and police took them into their custody from Sindwad.
The police found pesticides worth Rs. 7.29 lakh during inspection of the residences of the suspects They also seized Tavera (MH 04 EH 4960), Chota Haati (MH 15 CK 8558), Hero Honda Splendour (MH 15 DW 6471) and other goods amounting to total Rs. 13.24 lakh.
