Nashik: The ‘weekly market’ culture is now a reality for the residents of the rural police quarters at Adgaon as district superintendent of police Sanjay Darade inaugurated the market for the convenience of the residents and particularly the women class who would be able to buy fresh vegetables directly from the farmers.

This is probably the first initiative being taken exclusively at the police quarters here by the Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board (MSAMB) to supply and sale directly the agricultural produce from farmer to customer without any middleman. The weekly market will be organised on every Friday between 3.00 pm and 7.00 pm. MSAMB dy general manager Digvijay Aher, dy SP Atul Zende and Prof Patil of Dr Vasantrao Pawar Medical College were present.

“The weekly market will also be opened at Malegaon,” said Darade.
