Nashik: Here is good news for city Ganesh mandals that face permission and law and order-related issues, as they will get approvals online from next week onwards. This was announced by city police commissioner Dr Ravinder Kumar Singal while speaking to daily ‘Deshdoot’.
The move will help make the whole process more simple and speedy, said Dr Singal adding that pandals furnishing all the requisite documents will be given permission in two days.
Earlier, the Ganesh mandals had to face red-tapism and go through various time-consuming stages like seeking separate permissions from the NMC, police stations, fire and traffic departments to get permit for setting up pandals and other decorations.
The aspiring mandals who want to process their applications online will have to click on an official website nashikcitypolice. com to fill their applications. On experimental basis, the said service will be launched in eight days and will be in active mode till August 22, the sources said.
Meanwhile, the police department has decided to install 14 CCTVs with an estimated cost of Rs 2 lakh, on the Ganesh immersion routes to keep strict vigil and curb anti-social elements.
