Nashik : Foodgrain on ration card will not be supplied to those beneficiaries whose ration cards are not linked with aadhaar card. This decision will come into force from July 1, informed District Supply Officer Sarita Narke. Public distribution supply system has been computerised under EPDS method in state, she informed.
The Food Supply Department issued orders for its effective implementation to supply officers in the state. While reviewing EPDS method in the state, Principal secretary of supply department Mahesh Pathak issued these orders.
District Supply Officer Sarita Narke said, “Nashik district topped state in EPDS method. Details of all ration card holders have been registered in it. Around 92% aadhaar cards have been linked. If aadhaar card of any single person from a family is not linked, concerned ration card will be considered bogus and benefits on this card will be stopped.”
Though foodgrain is being given on those ration cards where technical difficulties are emerging, all data is being uploaded on software to remove these technical difficulties. Verification of aadhaar linked data and data with the supply department will be verified, Narke informed.
Food and Civil Supplies department has decided not to give foodgrain to those ration card holders from July 1 who do not provide their aadhaar number. It is necessary to provide aadhaar card number to fair shop owners by June 30. Those ration card holders who have not provided their aadhaar card numbers with fair price shop owners or Supplies department yet, should provide it immediately, she asked.
